I am a little disappointed in this writer since he focuses on the "LACK" of Hawaiians. What about the good things like how Hawaiians are speaking up? I don't see it as us lacking a leader or leaders. I really like this letter because I can understand the writer since I grew up in a poor family and if it wasn't for the Kamehameha Schools I would be on welfare. This of course would result in American taxpayers feeding me, housing me, and clothing me. Do people understand this? That education is key. Anyway I like this letter:

I love it when Hawaiians speak up even though some times I disagree with what they have to say. Every one has a voice. Unfortunately what I have noticed is that MANY Hawaiians try to discourage other Hawaiians from speaking up which in turn teaches Hawaiian children that they should not speak up which is UNCOOL. In today's paper someone wrote a letter explaining how Pidgin English also known as "Hawai'i Creole English" should be left out of our schools which really annoys me because plantation workers used Pidgin English to communicate with each other. I agree with these letter writers complaining about the soaring property taxes in Hawai'i. Since last year the property taxes on the property that I own in Hawai'i has doubled! (Yeah... fuck man!) In today's paper I read about these cream puffs. The title is, "Cream puff with weird name going Hawaiian." It really made me laugh. Worse... This mentality of a newcomer to Hawai'i amuses me. He has only been living on O'ahu for three years yet he feels as though he is entitled to tell people on O'ahu what to do. Amazing LOL For the record... Hanauma Bay is more polluted than it has ever been. One would know this if they had lived on O'ahu for over 20 years
